Drs. Tsegaye Tadesse, Brian Wardlow, and Mike Hayes have a chapter called “The Application of Data Mining for Drought Monitoring and Prediction” that is scheduled to be published in July 2008 in the book, Data Mining Applications for Empowering Knowledge Societies, edited by Hakikur Rahman, published by IGI Global of Hershey, PA. The chapter reviews the potential of data mining techniques for drought monitoring and prediction in the U.S. and showcases VegOut as an example of one of those tools. The table of contents, introduction, and abstract are available on-line, and the book can be purchased pre-publication from: http://www.igi-global.com/reference/details.asp?id=7793
